“I thought this book was exceptionally written with very clever illustrations. It seemed like a whole new genre and wasn't like most comics in the way that it contained lots of literary techniques such as symbolism, scale, and juxtaposition. I personally thought this book neutral, while other readers argue it's pro-Iranian or against it. It gave sides of both arguments and had a lot of depth and detail from a girl who actually lived through it.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and would read other graphic novels by Marjane Satrapi.”
