I agree with kristin r. What a beautiful trilogy on Josephine Bonaparte! Once again, a tremendous woman stands beside (behind?) a famous man. The amount of information saved from famed persons in history renders this historical fiction enormously accurate. Most all of the writings are saved from generation to generation. I enjoyed learning so much about this period in history and this incredible woman. Gulland's writing technique and historic detail make for a series of books I could not put down.

saw the comment posted a year ago, stating that this book does not sound interesting. Obviously this person does not know anything about the life of Josephine Bonaparte!! She had a very dramatic life, one that was not nessecarily envied, but one that was fascinating and beyond my comprehension of reality. It is a great book to escape into a completely different world during a time that I knew very little about. I am greatful for the history lesson intertwined with passion and emotion. I would highly recommend the series to anyone.
