“This is Biblical fiction that isn't much better than a Harlequin romance. Still, our book club had a great discussion about independent women and the strictures of society. ”

“I really enjoyed this story. It is about a girl who wants to uncover a mystery/story of a woman name Ruth (story of the book of Ruth). And as she does it there are people who want to keep her story hidden. As she tries to find out the story of Ruth she has an encounter with a man. She is still very young and confused. She has to work out a lot and find a way to understand herself and her feelings in this story. ”

“This book was ok. I probably use "The Red Tent" as a measuring stick for this genre of book and so far everything falls short.”

“This was an interesting story but not something I'd pick up a second time. It dragged on through the middle, every chapter ending with a great deal of foreshadowing and suspense that got very obnoxious. ”
