Everyone's looking forward to fun and sunshine except Trixie. She has only one thing on her wish list-another Mystery. And if a suspicious cowboy and puzzling sobs in the night are any clue, She just may get it! From Sarah!”

Yes | No“The last of the installments written by series creator Julie Campbell is another delightful romp through the carefree world of Trixie and her teenage friends. Although a little weighted with didactic material about Arizona history and American Indian lore, it is still in a class above the books to follow, all written under the collective psuedonym Kathryn Kenny.
In a bid to convince her parents to allow her to accompany the rest of the Bob-Whites on a Christmas vacation to Tuscon in spite of her failing grades, Trixie vows to study harder than ever while on vacation. But when she and the others arrive at the dude ranch owned by Di’s uncle (the real uncle this time), they are confronted with the fact that most of Uncle Monty’s staff has mysteriously quit, leaving the ranch drastically short-handed. Impulsive as ever, Trixie volunteers herself and her friends to work during their vacation. And in spite of her homework load and her new job, she—of course—also manages to find a few harmless mysteries to solve along the way.
There are no crooks in this story and no crimes to speak of—just puzzling circumstances in which Trixie can’t help but entangle herself. All in all—although not the best of Campbell’s installments—this is still a great book.
