“Being as music-obsessed as I am, I thought that the idea of this musical diary to be a fresh one. He never really focuses on the DIRECTLY, but instead relates to a period of his life, a story, or a feeling. It's great to read criticism that isn't really criticism at all.”

“Hornby takes me with him wherever he goes in these essays. The couple that speak most directly about his son are incredibly moving, but all are at least fun and eye-opening. ”
