He never went to college but ended up a general. Chuck Yeager was a World War II ace, was shot down, was the first man to break the sound barrier, rode horses, brought golden trout to the Sierras in a borrowed plane, was a test pilot, had eyes like a hawk, and it keeps going. He was one of my...

I still remember how Yeager could see the bullets hit his ground targets from his P-51. What a stallion!

A good book about a man who did a lot more than *just* being the first pilot to break the sound barrier. An example of non-fiction being more entertaining and than fiction.

A good story told with an honest voice, with added voices of his wife and friends. Admirable, gifted, and hardworking, Chuck Yeager is a hero of flying and living "balls-out". I do not find it inspirational nor reflective, just a good yarn.

Yeager is/was the man. His true life story is even more incredible than Sam Shepard's portrayal in The Right Stuff. A great read if you're a fan of the movie or are into WWII history.

I enjoyed reading about this aviator, largely due to hearing the Air National Guard pilots break the sound barrier with the sound of the "sonic boom" each Saturday morning in the 50's as I was growing up on the west side of Great Falls under Gore Hill.

Good bio of Chuck Yeager the first man to break the sound barrier. He's had an interesting life.
