So she shops and shops and shops. Then gets laid off, and somewhere along the way, her debt totals aver 20k. On a whim, she starts a website savekaryn.com and writes about her story and asks for people to give a dollar or more donation. I heard that they made this into a movie, but I haven't seen it. This books reads like a little bit of chick lit in the beginning, only better because it's all true. ”

How Karyn landed in debt is totally reasonable, becuase that's about how women are. We just want to look good, and sometimes the consequences of it are thrown into the back of the closet just because we choose not to face it.
Like her, I have a credit card debt as well, which I am dying to pay off, very slowly in fact. But how she had the wonderful idea of creating savekaryn.com to garner donations from people, strangers from all around the world is truly commendable. No, it is not degrading at all.
The book is so well written and witty, it had me giggling with every page turned. I loved every bit of the book.”
“Scary, but true! I think there are a lot of good lessons to be learned through Karyn's experiences. I heard she wrote another book...I'll have to check into it. I really liked this one.”

Light-hearted and fun, I enjoyed the majority of the book; however, towards the end, it really just became a rehashing of her website, and less an insight into what actually went INTO the site.
Bottom line: worth reading, but take a cue from Karyn, and purchase it used, or better yet, borrow it from a library!”
“I loved this book. It was a very witty tale of getting into debt and figuring out a creative way to get out of it. ”

I have my young nieces passing it around so that hopefully they will not end up in Karyn's shoes so to speak, as they could have bought them on eBay!
This is a great book to give girls fresh out of college or on their own. Good lessons in finance.”
