“This is the first book in Quinn's Bridgerton Series and it's a great debut. The rest of the books are highly recommended. In order: The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, An Offer From A Gentleman, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, To Sir Phillip With Love, When He Was Wicked, It's In His Kiss, On The Way to the Wedding. The best ones in my opinion are The Duke, The Viscount, Romancing, and Kiss and 2nd epilogues.
Simon and Daphne are great characters. All of the Bridgerton's are to good to be true of course. Toss in Lady Whistledown and everything's a go. What a fun romance. Some sad parts to be sure.
Don't forget to read The 2nd Epilogues..only available in eBooks. Also Lady Whistledown's has a couple books too.
Anything Quinn will do nicely.
Enjoy!

“This was a wonderful, funny read. The author did a great job with developing her main characters, as well as the secondary characters - I loved the whole rambunctious Bridgerton crew! The tension between the hero and heroine was perfect, and their unfolding feelings for each other well-paced and realistic. The conflict/dilemma between the two kept the plot moving forward, but wasn't so emotionally wrenching that it negatively impacted the humor. I caught myself laughing out loud quite a few times while reading this one. A great start to the series. I'm looking forward to reading the rest.”
An amazon user wrote this on 2009-09-20.“This is the first book of The Bridgerton Series
I liked the story for the fact that she has loving and over protective brothers. Also, I fell in love with the Bridgerton family. Other than those two, the love story was just an average read for me. This love story didn't have enough spice for me. I think I wanted the hero, Simon, to be more of an alpha male or at least to show more of the characteristics of an alpha male who's in love with Daphne. I would have rated this as two stars if I didn't like the Bridgerton family interactions so much.
This book is a "MUST have" to add to your romance book collection.
The series follows the Bridgerton siblings
1st book- "The Duke and I" Daphne's story
2nd book- "The Viscount Who Loved Me" Anthony's story *eldest sibling*
3rd book- "An Offer From A Gentleman" Benedict's story *my favorite story out of the series*
4th book- "Romancing Mister Bridgerton" Colin's story *second favorite*
5th book- "To Sir Phillip, With Love" Eloise's story -haven't read yet-
6th book- "When He Was Wicked" Francesca's story -haven't read yet-
7th book- "It's In His Kiss" Hyacinth's story -haven't read yet-
8th book- "On the Way to the Wedding" Gregory's story *THE LAST of the series* -haven't read yet-

“I thought that this book was well written. I liked all the dialogue, and I really enjoy the family interaction in this book. I really did like Simon and Daphne as friends, but I don't think I could believe that they made good lovers.
They way Simon lied to Daphne about conceiving children was awful. I understand he has some pretty big issues, but if he was going to be honest with her he needed to be totally honest.
The way Daphne too advantage of Simon (Raped more like it) in order to get what she wanted was disgusting. I felt like at that moment they should just call it quits and move on. I really didn't want them together after that.
I feel like they also lost a lot of the chemistry they had when they were pretending to court which was sad to see. It was the first romance novel where I felt that the hero and heroine should were better off friends.
I have started the second book in this series today. I hope Anthony's story is better.”
“This book is a tale of 2 people with an attraction towards each other. A girl who wants to get married and have a family, and an experienced male who very certainly does NOT want to get married. They kiss, get caught, and the man is faced with a choice between death via duel and marriage. And this man chooses death. The woman, of course, talks some sense into him and they get married. He beds her but refuses to orgasm in her, then he leaves her in his childhood home and travels abroad while she decides to return to her family in shame. I must mention, the first half of the book was wonderful with lots of amusing dialogue. It was just the second half of the book was not so good. Personally I didn't think that a forced marriage and a husband who refuses to orgasm within his wife to be all that romantic.
This book was shockingly similar to Love Only Once by Johanna Lindsey, right down to the protective older brothers, tryst in a garden, abandonment, family shame, and unusual circumstances of pregnancy. Thus, I will give it a similarly poor review. If you like reluctant and bitter romances, then enjoy this book. If not, save your money.”
