To Sir Phillip, With Love

by Julia Quinn

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he'd proposed, figuring that she'd be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Eloise, a spinster, forges a friendship with pen pal, Phillip. She secretly flees London to met him. He is not the man she thought from their letters, but slowly their friendship is renewed and kindled into love. Nice easy read with well written characters. Eloise is strong, independent woman, and does not need saving. Will appeal to romance readers with a preference for historical settings, but because Eloise is independent it should also appeal to contemporary romance readers.

I really liked this one in the series. Sir Phillip was way different than any of the other characters in her book. It was a nice change.

Very cute book, good love story. I've read one other book in the Bridgerton series (the one about Sophie and Benedict) so I really enjoyed this one a lot, given I already knew some of the background. Cute, fast read.

    A tortured hero + a Bridgerton heroine= A good read.
