Another one of my favorites, I love the romance that Gregory's book has. Watching him grow up makes it almost unbelievable that he's a man n this book, looking for love, but it's a fantastically wonderful and funny book. I enjoyed it immensely.

Gregory Bridgerton believes in love - for good reason. His parents had loved each other dearly, and each of his seven siblings had fallen in love and gotten married before him. And when he sees the beautiful Hermione Watson, he falls instantly in love with her. But unfortunately, Hermione is in love with another man. Luckily for Gregory, Hermione's best friend Lady Lucinda (Lucy) doesn't believe that the man Hermione loves is right for her, so she promises to help Gregory win Hermione's heart. Thus begins this wonderful romantic romp in Regency England.

Julia Quinn has been called the modern Jane Austen by some. I'm not sure if I would go that far, but her novels contain many of the same elements, and they are done well. There's witty banter, characters you love, villians you despise, and more witty banter (she's known for the humor in her books). This is the eighth novel in her Bridgerton series, which features the eight siblings of the large and loving Bridgerton family. I love this series and am sad to see it come to an end. But the good thing is that they are all on my keeper shelf, and I can re-read at my leisure :-)

Here's a sample of the wit in the book from a conversation between Lady Lucinda and Gregory's sister-in-law, Lady Bridgerton:

"And you, Lady Lucinda, will be escorted by Mr. Berbrooke." She smiled weakly, almost in apology. "He is a relation of sorts," she added.

"A relation?" Lucy echoed. "Of sorts?"

"Yes. My husband's brother's wife's sister is married to his brother."

"Oh." Lucy kept her expression bland. "Then you are close?"

Sweet and funny, but heart-wrenching, too. I loved it, and I actually laughed out loud and cried a lot. So glad when I find a book that will make me do both!

The 8th and last installment of the Bridgerton books written by Julia Quinn was a wonderful story of Gregory who always knew true love existed. A romantic at heart he has watched all 7 of his siblings fall in love and marry knowing that he too would one day fall in love. And he did. While attending a week of festivities that his sister-in-law puts together. With the help of beautiful Hermoine Watson's best friend she will soon be his. Only love doesn't quite work out the way Gregory expects it to. It appears that when love comes calling it tends to make things quite difficult actually.

Overall I very much enjoyed this book. It felt a tad bit long especially through the middle when both hero and heroine profess their love for one another. I mean, once I love Yous are in place it is only a matter of pages before the happily ever afters get there. But this book was different. It shows that some times what you think you long for isn't always what you actually want.

This is definitely a book you should read if you have enjoyed the other Bridgerton books.

Julia Quinn is my favourite historical romance author. She writes in the Regency period and this book is the final installment in the Bridgerton family series, consisting of eight books, one for each sibling. I thought the first five books were all brilliant but the last two I had read from later in the series were not as good. Would 'On the Way to the Wedding' be a return to form?

I’m pleased to say that On the Way to the Wedding did not disappoint, it had all the ingredients that make an excellent romance novel –pace, exciting plot and ending, chemistry, brilliant dialogue and a touch of humour. Quinn has a wonderful touch.

As usual she never disappoints us. But this time there was a little bit of thrill. Two thumbs up.

As the only unmarried Bridgerton sibling, Gregory believes that his time will come. And while his contemporaries dread the word marriage, he relishes the word and looks forward to meeting the one. Then one night, it seems that he's finally found her. Beautiful and ethereal, Gregory knows that she's the one. Except...Hermione's heart belongs to another. But fate brings him a fairy godmother in the form of Hermione's best friend.

Lucy Abernathy wants nothing more than to save her dear friend from a disastrous alliance. Realizing Gregory's interest, she offers to help him win Hermione's heart. But fate has other plans for everyone involved. For along the way, Lucy finds herself falling in love with Gregory, then Gregory wakes up to the realization that the woman for him is in fact Lucy. The problem is that she's engaged already. So what's a man to do?

Having read the other novels in the series, I couldn't wait to finally read Gregory's story. I couldn't ask for a better start to the book. The prologue is a real cliffhanger and promised such a fantastic story. Except that somewhere along the line, it fell into pieces. Julia Quinn has such talent for witty and engaging dialogues. While this book is no exception, the repetitiveness becomes rather tedious. Don't get me wrong. This was still pretty entertaining and I really loved how Gregory turned out to be such a romantic. I guess I've always had this picture of him as the mischievous boy who literally rocked the boat in THE DUKE and I and caused the lead characters to take a splash. Therefore, seeing him risk everything to win the woman he loved was a real delight. And Lucy is truly deserving of his heart.

ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING is the final installment to a wonderful series. It is sad to say goodbye to a family that I have come to love, yet at the same time, happy to see things end wonderfully for all of them. If this were real life, I am sure that Violet Bridgerton would be one of the happiest mothers in the world.

Last in the Bridgerton series in which Gregory finds a wife. I love the Bridgerton family - interesting characters with good hearts who are lucky enough to eventually all find the love of their life to marry! This one certainly has some surprising plot twists that kept me guessing - very entertaining and unpredictable.
