The inspiration for this book was a creative thought experiment that the author assigned to his introductory students... might make for good (fun) teaching/learning, but it doesn't really work to hold the book together... too bad.”

It's a collection of papers from Frank's students that apply economic theory to everyday questions, such as: why are milk cartons rectangular and soda cans cylindrical; why do hotels and airlines charge cancellation fees, but rental car companies don't, and on and on. Fascinating stuff, with many counterintuitive conclusions, which is not uncommon when you understand economics. Highly recommended.”

Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but the author did seem to be guessing on some of the answers for the questions he posed.”
