Not bad so far, but not quite as good as I was hoping.

Disappointing. The inspiration for this book was a creative thought experiment that the author assigned to his introductory students... might make for good (fun) teaching/learning, but it doesn't really work to hold the book together... too bad.

This is an outstanding book. It's a collection of papers from Frank's students that apply economic theory to everyday questions, such as: why are milk cartons rectangular and soda cans cylindrical; why do hotels and airlines charge cancellation fees, but rental car companies don't, and on and on. Fascinating stuff, with many counterintuitive conclusions, which is not uncommon when you understand economics. Highly recommended.

This was a relatively short book, full of mostly 1 page topics and discussion of the economic principles behind the topic. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but the author did seem to be guessing on some of the answers for the questions he posed.
