I don't know... Maybe his english is a bit hard of me, but from what I understand I don't like him. Maybe I haven't gotten to any good poems yet, or I don't fully understand hi. I can't tell. I'll read more and if I like something I'll change my rating on Keats, but for now...

Poetry is not my preferred genre, and I don’t read a lot of it, but Keats has always been my favorite of the Romantic poets, and after seeing the movie BRIGHT STAR, I decided to read his complete works. This book contains everything that Keats wrote, and not all of it is wonderful. The narrative poem “Endymion,” for example was not critically praised, and Keats himself recognized its failings but realized that to be a great artist, one must sometimes “leap into the ocean to become familiar with the surroundings.” Some of the poems in the collection are unfinished, and some are fragments of verse included in letters. Much of his work, though, is fabulous, such as the beautifully crafted “Ode on a Grecian Urn” and “Ode to a Nightingale.” I also liked the narrative poem “Isabella or the Pot of Basil,” based on a story by Boccacio, and there is even a play is verse called “Otho the Great” which is quite good.

I loved some of them, others felt very inaccessible.

Great to dip into late at night, a true bedside classic. But also good to read closely.

Great Romantic poet--writing about the passion of life at the end of his own!

I first read this collection as part of a course in Late Romantic Literature. Keats was an excellent poet who died before his time, but he did leave an excellent body of work.
