My very first foray into Anita-dom was an excerpt from this story. It was ridiculously sneaky, cutting me off right when I was hooked. Clever, very clever. Despite the fact that this is when a lot of fans say the series got sleazy it still hooked me. (Perhaps that says something about me? For...

My very first foray into Anita-dom was an excerpt from this story. It was ridiculously sneaky, cutting me off right when I was hooked. Clever, very clever. Despite the fact that this is when a lot of fans say the series got sleazy it still hooked me. (Perhaps that says something about me? For shame!) Both of them? At the same time? Who are you kidding? You liked it, too!

I really enjoyed the Anita Blake series up until I read this book. I have finished reading this and I even started Cerulean Sins. I haven't finished reading C. Sins because it is just too much. In the first couple of books she is this bada$$ woman who can fight vampires and other things that go bump in the night. But somehow in this book and the next one the author makes Anita get ridiculous with her sexual lust. I mean come on... she was fine with just the wolf and vampire. Now you want to throw in a panther as well. It was just too much. I am sorry but I do not recommend this book to anyone.

Meet the Werehyenas of St Louis. And find out what a PanWere is.
But will she survive the meeting?

    1. The Anita Blake books started off as very fresh, really fun, and original. 2. They got better and better as the series went on. 3. This could well be her sprawling masterpiece. 4. It's impressive for ANYONE to keep a series interesting for TEN BOOKS! 5. After this, LKH got a little wacky. Great book, but I really should have stopped here . . .

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sure glad Micah entered the story. We needed an alpha who was comfortable being an alpha and not a whiny little kid *cough*Richard*cough*

This one had a good story, slow, very slow at first, I must admit. But it took really took off halfway through and grabbed my attention. I am still hoping Anita isn't a leopard for real, but as of the end of this book it still isn't clear. She may be a lot of things, but I just don't see were in there anywhere.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally, am getting sick and tired of Richard. He has been a were for a long time. Longer than he has known Anita. He even knew Anita's reputation before they met and yet he is still upset at her coolness when it comes to survival. The last straw was when he was going to let himself die. Gave up. Pretty much said screw the pack, it's all about me and I'll let them die with me. Now there is a leader for you *insert sarcastic tone here*.

Werehyenas, cobras, lions, tigers and bears oh my! I am fascinated with some of the were's Hamilton has written, but others... not so much. I could really do without the snakes and possibly the hyenas. Just too much going on and all in one story.

I think this one is great because of the addition of some amazing new characters... and some really hot new characters and some amazing fight scenes
