I'm only giving it three stars because I can't remember which one, this one or Descartes' Error, had the case studies and discussions I really liked. Damasio is a good writer and has some interesting thoughts on the philosophy of mind. If you're really interested in the human mind, read it and Descartes Error.

*Note* This review is the exact same for 'Descartes Error' and 'The Feeling of What Happens'

Damasio tackles neuroscience, and the neurological components of psychology. He delves into theory about consciouness, and asks what it is, how we become more conscious, and why complete consciousness is both impossible and inhuman.
