“ Everyone hates Constance Young. It's no secret that her colleagues think she's a world class b***h, and rightly so. But when she ends up dead at the bottom of her swimming pool, it's up to those same colleagues to figure out exactly what happened to her.
Constance had just quit her job at KEY To America to move over to the morning news competition, Daybreak. No one was sad to see her go, but who hated her enough to kill her?
As bodies start piling up and the news business gets fierce, it will be up to KEY Headline News evening anchor Eliza and her coworkers Annabelle, B.J., and Margo to get to the bottom of the mystery.
This was a fun, fast mystery that I enjoyed. The behind-the-scenes working of television news was a great subplot, and the storyline makes perfect sense. This is a great summer beach read. ”
“I wasn't super into this book, I didn't guess the killer though so that saves it from being a total failure. Jumped around too many characters so i never really felt I knew anything important about them. ”

Just as Constance Young was set to make the leap from the KEY network's national morning show to their competition, she is found dead at the bottom of her pool. Suspects abound: her sister, Faith, a stay-at-home mom who was caring for their ailing mother without much help from the very wealthy Constance; Boyd, her assistant at KEY who was the whipping boy for many degrading requests; Stuart, the spurned boyfriend who risked everything to treat Constance as his queen; Linus, the head of KEY News, who had molded Constance into the cheery morning host adored by millions, only to be betrayed by her leaving; Annabelle and D. J., her producer and cameraman, who put up with countless complaints about everything they did; Lauren, the new girl in town set to take over for Constance; and even Eliza, the beloved doyenne of the network, who had no tolerance for Constance's prima donna posturing. Clark knows this territory well, both as a best-selling author of formulaic but always readable mysteries and as a writer and producer for CBS News. For fans of light mysteries, the combination of network-news melodrama and a frothy whodunit plot should prove irresistible. Wilkens, Mary Frances

The "twist" that reveals the murderer is particularly creative - almost more interesting than the identity of the murderer.
The audio edition is narrated very capably by Isabel Keating. Might actually keep this one and listen to it again!”
“This is a quick, suspensful read. Good beach book!”
