Larry is becoming a more developed character and adds to Anita's experiences, and I enjoyed finding out more about Anita and Jean Claude's history. “I liked the addition of the Fae into this story. Something new and flashy for Anita to kill. Yipee. And, oh, the tension. She's superwoman, I swear.”

I've always loved the plot action in these books but found the over-the-top caricaturization of the main character incredibly annoying. In this installment Anita actually makes mistakes, she experiences doubts, desire, and even some defeat which goes a long way towards making her a character rather than just a caricature. Giving her a side-kick, and thereby a mirror in which to see herself differently, really helped add dimensions to her. Yes we still have to hear about her black Nike's and her inner-pants holster (time after time), but she comes across as much more natural in this book. That, along with a wide and varied host of new monsters, made for an excellent read.”

I was a little worried when she left the group to go to the other master vamp and was distraught when she felt her burn to her death.
Larry is growing on me fast. At first I thought he'd be an annoying character that tags along but I look forward to seeing him in the next novels on his journey to becoming not just an animator but a vampire executioner.
I was excited, she was sooooo close to ending up with Jean Claude, but then she stopped and I was annoyed. I just want them together! But the tension is great and I love to hate it.
I was a little sad to not really see Dolph in this one, I love Anita's interaction with RPIT. I am interested to see if they will pass the new law, where Anita would end up with a badge to do what she does, instead of just being on retainer with the police. ”
“I'm still loving this series so much! Bloody Bones was really intense! I always get so scared for Anita and wonder, "Now, how is she going to get out of this mess?" LKH makes me a bit nervous too because I'm always afraid of who she might kill off.
**SPOILERS**
I would have liked to see Jean-Claude be able to help Anita more. I just want him to be able to rescue her once.
I liked that Anita saved Jean-Claude, but since he took her blood, wouldn't she have been marked again?
I appreciate that LKH doesn't have to force a HEA in order to make the readers happy, but it would have been nice if just this once Anita could have saved the boy (Jeff Quinlin). I think it would have helped her since she is still so pained over the memory of whats-his-name getting killed in book 1 (Guilty Pleasures).
And finally, Anita needed to be held at the end and needed to be able to break down and release. I know she's too tough to cry, but I wanted something more. I would have liked for her to have ran into Richard's arms at the end maybe? Or the 2nd night w/ Jean-Claude, after saving him and how close they got at the hotel later, she should have slept with him. Not sex, but when he slept at dawn, she should have layed down with him. It would have made for a nice moment.”
“Wow graveyard raiseing ”
