Wish I can find a copy of the tv series, though.”
“The Storm of the Century was a one in which the plot would one moment grab ones attention then loose it, this was quite evident in the moments where there would be a moment where you would almost reach the “top of the hill” moment then all of a sudden you would hit an unexpected decline. A great example of this would be the beginning, the story starts of with the quiet town of Little Tall Island, Maine preparing for a huge Nor’easter storm (Huge hurricane-like storm that usually hits the North Eastern portions of United States) then is suddenly is rocked to its core by the entrance of a mysterious character named Andre Linoge, who all of a sudden without reason murders Martha Claredon. Then all of a sudden it begins to show the television talking about advertisements and how bad the storm was going to be, to me this scene was completely pointless and irrelevant to the story. The second dramatic scene would have to be the part where Linoge’s entire reason for having come to Little Tall Island which can all summed up into one single request “Give me what I want and I will leave” which bewilders the entire town especially the young Micheal Anderson, the town’s constable. Then all of a sudden we go into a scene where in the nice cozy house of Jack Carver a minor character of the story this was another completely pointless moment that did nothing but take me away from the main plot of the story. The third and final dramatic scene would be the ending of the entire story to me it had a very crazy ending in which the huge climax I was expecting did not even take place.
This book I believe is one for a person who is able to follow along with the plot line and who does not mind the sudden scenes where it appears the story gets off topic of its main plot line. No offense to the author but it appears with this specific story he appear to have not been to sure to how exactly how he wanted the story to go especially with the entire up and down motion of the plot line. Also I did not really feel the suspense because of the same reason the plots constant ups and downs took away the entire feel of the suspense was left me quickly. Not to repeat myself but the ending is really what solidified my dislike of this story, especially after I heard of the many other Stephen King books such as “The Shining” or “It”. This is and was one of my least favorite books ever to have read for my outside reading book and I would not advise it for those who love straight forward, on point, interesting stories.
