Its academic style gets tedious and clearly this book was pushed to it's publish date because as you get into the last two sections typos and other terrible editing snafus abound, but if like myself you need to eased into academia-speak when it comes to contemporary art this book is helpful.
See through the editorial sloppiness and you could even consider it interesting as the author has done his homework when it comes to working with original sources. The bibliography contains a panoply of modernist writings and artworks that I have not encountered in my past education and helped to fill in the blanks as to how contemporary art arrived at its present form. ”
