Right! Dante Valentine a necromance and bounty hunter chooses the second possiblity at least she´d have a chance to...” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It“Couldn't finish it. Didn't like it at all.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Decent book. Plot development and character development were good and consistent until the last 75 pages. At that point, the plot becomes one-dimensional and seems hurried in places -- especially the "final battle" aspect. Not a terrible book by any means, but not a superb/spectacular one either.”

And I LOVE her demon lover...rrrrrr. The plot is engrossing and fast paced. In fact, watched the story pla out like a TV show in my head. Saintcrow is a good storyteller but maybe not an excellent or precise writer. Still, the book has so much personality, it took me along for a thrillride, and I loved it so much I read the whole series back to back twice. Obsessively thinking about Japhrimel is starting to fade as I force myself to read other things and think about work, but ... last night I admit that I did go read certain parts of this book again, just for fun.
Much better than Night Shift, the first book in the Jill Kismet series.”
“Any fan of the urban fantasy genre knows how difficult it can be to
find books with romantic elements in them without tons of sex(Patricia
Briggs is a wonderful exception).
It looks like I may have found another non-pornographic series.
Unfortunately, this book can't get my endorsement due to prolific use
of the f-word (almost on every page), and a fair amount of religious
bashing towards Christians ruined an otherwise solid urban fantasy.
Sexual Content:
One or two vague and brief descriptions of sex. A past lesbian
relationship is mentioned in a flashback with some description.”
“When I picked up this book I thought it would be paranormal but was pleasantly surprised with the sci/fi - paranormal blend. Dante Valentine is a necromancer who is given a no win job by the devil. He gives her his right hand demon, Japhrimel, to help increase her chances. With friends and Jap's help she begins an almost impossible job. Fast paced, action filled read.”

I didn't like the heroine, the demon sidekick is actually more appealing than Dante. Repetitious writing, just not my cup of tea. Couldn't even finish this one.”
