“Set in the Scottish Highlands for the most part the story is about an English woman named Jamie and the head of the Kincaid clan Alec. Alec and his good friend Daniel Ferguson are ordered by the Scottish King to marry English noblewomen and the nobleman whose daughters are up for grabs is Baron Jamison.
Jamie, his youngest is not his biological child but that child his late wife was pregnant with when she married him, she is also the unofficial mistress of the household overseeing everything from food preparations to household repairs.
Alec is the head of the Kincaid clan shrouded in mystery and gossip due to the alleged suicide of his first wife Helena. As is typical in such stories he is huge, with long dark red hair and brown eyes, while she is dainty with long dark hair and deep blue eyes.
As the story progresses we witness Jamie’s adjustment to the Scottish way of life and the clans adjustment to her, follow the mystery of the killer. 3.5/5 – for a romance it was quite interesting, funny and I appreciated the fact that Alec was not as brazen and aggressive as the hero’s usually are and while Jamie was stubborn and such it was not irrational stubbornness.
