This was so hard to read and i could not get into to it. The story beginning reminded me of a character focused, black and white, movie you can have playing in the background on a Sunday afternoon. This is not what I want from a book and i gave up after page 30. There was just too much dialogue...

Good for a philosophical discussion but didn't really hold me.

Plot is understandable, but i felt completely illogical. I didn't understand the philosophical significance!!!

Very dense. The concept is intriguing, but I found my mind wandering away from the story within a few chapters. I gave up and filed the book away to read in the future. I really want to "get" it... maybe some other time.

At times surreal and haunting, and at other times far too long-winded. I wonder what this book might have been had its author lived long enough to complete it.

Excellent one, which makes sense as you get older and older.

This was so hard to read and i could not get into to it. The story beginning reminded me of a character focused, black and white, movie you can have playing in the background on a Sunday afternoon. This is not what I want from a book and i gave up after page 30. There was just too much dialogue between a limited number of characters using language from the 1930, which is when it was written.

Darkly funny right up until the devastatingly brutal conclusion. This is a horror story in which the monster is the state and its claws and fangs are the citizens themselves.

    I will admit, I didn't finish it...
It started excellently, then disappeared into an extended display of law-based jargon and bureaucratic nonsense. Which is probably actually the whole point.
