I know for a fact this book doesn't have an electrifying effect on everyone...it was given to me as a gift by someone whose life it changed, and it sat on my bookshelf for years before I picked it up in earnest. I was so moved by it that time around that I started an "Artist's Way" group to go through the book together (an act very out of character for me), and many other people just weren't digging it. But to say I benefitted greatly from this book is an understatement.

    This book falls short of true art therapy. It assumes that everyone is more or less the same and does not account for depression or anxiety problems. A better book would be "Art as a Way of Knowing" by Pat Allen.
