Delightful autobiography of the revolutionary's travels throughout South America with a friend on a motorcycle. Raised in affluence, Che's trip, through which he witnessed the suffering and deep poverty of the peasants, was instrumental in forming his socialist ideology.

Definitely not one of my favorite books. It was rather dull and uninteresting. The plot followed Che around different towns and showed his interaction with the various townspeople. It was okay at the beginning, though it got repetitive and boring very quickly. However, the last chapter was...

I read this while traveling in South America and I learned a lot about Che Guevara. The only thing I didn't like was the translation.

I read it because I thought it would be interesting to get into the mind of a young Che. It was a great tale of adventure and had a barefoot, straw hat, motorcycle-riding feel of getting to know what South America is, but I do not feel like I know any better who Che was. He was young, adventurous, populist, ambitious, he burned for life like a character out of On the Road, but he didn't open himself up like I thought he might in writing a young man's travel memoirs. It was more of a cold journal; you could tell he had espoused the beginnings of the life he would live, but I feel like I could have learned just as much about him in this book as I could in a book about him which someone else had written. Not disappointed, but I wasn't blown away.

Not what you would think. Interesting, often artistic essays about Che's youthful hitch-hike through the poverty of Latin America.

Che before becoming a revolutionary. A story of what helped cause his drive, an awesome read

Simply Amazing. Any number of times you read it. And one of the few, rare books, where the movie adaptation is as good.

I am not judging this book 'cos I dont qualify to. It would have been much better and interesting had i known more (or rather anything at all) about Che!

Given that Che died (was assassinated) in 1967, will the book be copyright-free in 2017?
