I hope the title of this book--which makes it sound like New Age crap--doesn't turn too many people away. It will give readers a good sense of how imperialism and environmental devastation are two sides of the same coin. I'm sure right-wing critics will just accuse Hartmann of being a tree-hugging poster child for white guilt, precisely because name-calling is their best ammunition against this book and its author. I'm glad my friend Jen recommended it.
