This guy tries to cram as many big words into 50-word sentences as possible. It is frustrating to read, even with the help of the internet for some of the dated language. I got about 2/3rds of the way through and gave up. I understand the main ideas, and they aren't that great; he certainly...

    My all-time favorite. Dissects individual psychology from a social perspective to expose what we often miss in today's society due to post-WW II developments in the production of goods and services. Discusses possibilities for collective action to address the problem.

    "Society of the Spectacle", written a few years later, complements this book well and in my opinion offers much that is more up-to-date.
