This memoir tells the story of an Australian child who grows up in the immense spaces of the outback. As she tells us her story she is able to pull us into her life and we can see the images she describes. After the death of her father, her life changes dramatically and brings her finally to America. She becomes an amazing writer and a college president. i highly recommend this autobiography.
