This graphic novel tells the story of the Korean mail order bride Kyung Seo and her Canadian suitor Monty Wheeler. It tells the story of how Kyung enters and adapts to Monty's world.

    In theory.

In practice, however... The premise is terrific, and the back cover copy promises a lot. Unfortunately, the contents do not quite keep it. The characters are not so much characters, but they conform to stereotypes. Monty is the typical comic book geek, up to and including the exclamation "Thank god I'm not a virgin anymore!" after he has had sex with Kyung for the first time. While the graphic novel indicates what Kyung expected out of her life in Canada, and what she gets instead, Kalesniko digs deeper into clichés (used car dealer, anyone? Or sophisticated artist type?) than into character. Therefore, I found this book ultimately disappointing
