I loved this book! Maria is so brave, not only to change her entire outlook on life, but also to write about the whole story, no matter how painful some of the parts can be. I really admire her ability to open herself up to the world. I think most people can benefit from an attitude like hers. She met so many interesting people that she wouldn't have otherwise. I almost hate it that she found true love and marriage at the end of the story. It would have been enough for me to read that she...

This book depressed me immensely. It's hard to explain why other than to say if this is how women judge men and figure out what they really want out of life, the female species is doomed. The book itself is pretty entertaining, but the voice is way too old for the character and the ending left me wanting to smack her. I suppose my problem is largely that she spends a year dating whatever comes her way in the quest for figuring out what she really wants, instead of making that search more...
