“I just started this series also and like you wasn't immediately drawn to Kitty.(I have been quick to realize that the author has to have room for the character to grow and mature) Kitty was way too weak and needy. Well, after a week things have changed. I just started book 4(at 2:30 this morning after finishing book 3)and the world of Kitty has rocked. Kitty has grown and matured wonderfully. She has become a kick-ass heroine with balls of steel(although she still has her moments of self doubt) The deeper I get into this series the more I love it. It's not all about werewolves, this is an equal opportunity paranormal creature series. I hate that it is suppose to end at book 9 but at least I'll be along for the ride. A 5 star series that will suck you in completely.”

Luckily about halfway through I started getting into the groove. My initial turn off was Kitty seemed so spineless and I didn't care for her submissive behavior towards Carl. Yes, I know that is wolf pack behavior but it still rubbed me the wrong way. I loved Cormac, TJ and even the little we saw of the vampire Rick. I am hoping to see more of Rick and definitely more of Cormac in the future. The chemistry between Cormac and Kitty was definitely smokin'! I'll be curious to see how Kitty's self confidence evolves.”

The emotions were there, just not between a man and a woman as lovers. It was refreshing to read a book that wasn't 60% sex. It had a cool and different story line that wasn't believable but close enough to understand! I really liked it.”

I just picked it up because it looked by a fun paranormal/werewolf paperback and suddenly found myself caring about how hard it must be going from normal human social dynamics to pack social dynamics. I came out at the end feeling as though I'd learnt some perspective on cultural differences for some reason. It's not often I feel educated after reading a fantasy novel (unless it's Neil Gaiman), but I felt like one of Kitty Norville's callers by the end.
Oh, and there was also a lot of blood, gore, sex, and a werewolf named Kitty, who is kick-ass and very easy to like.”
“Its a fun romp when you are looking for something light to read”
