Incredible. I'd put off reading this book because I'd failed in one of Tolstoy's works a few years ago, and might not have started Crime and Punishment were it not loaded onto a Kindle I'd borrowed -- thanks Josh! Halfway through, I knew this book would reside on my top-10 list, and by 3/4 it was already my favorite book ever. C&P was rich in character, drama and ideas for contemplation. Several times I'd set it down to think, to make sure I wasn't rushing through and missing out on something the author wanted to show me, and sometimes successfully, but more often these periods were cut short, realizing the [e-]book was already in my hands again.

Absolutely loved this book!!! Talk about getting into a character's head and feeling what they're feeling. This book takes you on one heck of a guilt trip.

This was another book that wasn't as interesting to read as it was to discuss and analyze. It seems like a very straight-forward novel, but when you really start to think about it it becomes ultimately complex. All in all, it certainly ranks as one of the best books I read during high school
