  5. Shelfari

Shelfari edited the summary of Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress: A Novel Thursday, December 3 2009.

    • Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress was about two friends, one the narrarator, and the other named Luo. This took place in China, and it really surprised me how books and storytelling meant so much to them. They went to great lengths to get good books. They broke into their friend's house just to get the "sacred""sacred" books. When the narrarator and Luo meet the little seamstress, they both immidiatley fall in love with her. They are intriged with her and like how eager she is to here these stories that they always talk about. However, Luo is the one that gets her, and the narrarator is always a little of jealous of that, but doesn't say anything because that's the kind of character that he is. I wouldn't reccommend reading this book, but if you have to read it for school theres good points to talk about to your class and to write about in homework and essays.
