Magdelen Rising by Elizabeth Cunningham is a fictional account of Mary Magdelen as a young Celtic girl, and her burgeoning relationship with Jesus of Nazareth. This is the prequel to The Passion of Mary Magdelen, and is filled with the wonder and excitement of a young girl as she moves into womanhood and explores the mysterious world around her. Cunningham gives Maeve (Mary Magdelen) parity as Maeve believes she was fathered by a God, and exhibits powers of insight associated with the Druids of that period. Funny, sexy, tragic and joyous are just a few of the terms I could use to describe Magdelen Rising. for it is all of that and more. Powerfully conceived and written , Magedlen Rising could become a literature classic. Outstanding Fiction! A powerful story!
