  • Ellie Linton: She is a strong, capable woman who takes charge and keeps the gang together so they can complete their target. To survive till the end of the war.
  • Homer Yannos: He is a strong, touch man who helps Ellie keep the gang togethor and strong.
  • Fiona Maxwell: In a relationship with Homer, she is a bit of a girl. Throughout the series though, she has proven that she can be more than just that.
  • Lee: In an on and off relationship with Ellie. He is a quiet but very thoughtful man.
  • Kevin: A bit of a boy. But, like Fi, has proven he can be a man and strong throught out the war.
  • Gavin: a deaf boy, approx 12 yrs old - a "feral"
  • Jack: Came from a broken home, about 10 years old and Gavin's wingman.

  • Casey: Has a broken arm from the crazy-truck-escape-drive in book 5, Ellie takes a particular liking to her.
