    Too many footnotes?

Is anyone else not enjoying this book because of the all the footnotes? I adore Michael Palin's work but I am struggling with this book.

I enjoyed it. I don't know if you have ever read any Tom Sharpe books, Wilt, Wilt Alternative etc but I found it was written that style. Very funny book. Give it a go and tell me what you think.

You are right in saying he had no other way of writing this book. I am so in awe of Michael Palin and love everything he has done. I got this book for christmas and would normally have read it in the first week. I find it is a book I pick up but lose patience quickly with. Did you like Hemmingways Chair?

I must admit I'm finding it hard going.. I think maybe it's too raw.. but with so much material to get through I'm not sure what other choice he had!
