“Excellent book. Covers highlights of different Conan books I have read.”

I'd mention that I like reading these for the barely veiled socio-political commentaries, the subtext on race, and the way that evolution and ontology are interwoven in the narrative, but you'd know that really I'm just full of crap and I like books about people hitting each other on the head with swords.”
“At the time it was enthralling and I quickly devoured the rest of the books, ever hopeful Conan would appear in my neighborhood one day.... ”

But yet another author who later committed suicide; it saddens me. ”
“Having grown up with Conan, Doc Savage, Tarzan and many others, it was nice to reread Conan. The same thrill, the same excitement is still there. It was as if I had read them for the first time; when men were men and women were women. Great reading, great story lines, and we lost Howard way too soon.
Don't go by the movie Conan. You need to see and read the real thing. For those who love fantasy and larger than life hero's, Conan (the way Howard wrote him) is for you. Howard felt that Conan was peering over his shoulder as he wrote, and when I read Howard's writing, I almost get that same feeling: Conan watching my reaction as I once again read the stories of long ago. ”
“The first collecton of the original, un-edited, un-cut tales of the first hero of popular fantasy! Howard's writing is action packed and evocative. Forget "Ahunald!" This is the true Conan.”

Never have I seen such action packed sentences move so fast. Howard's writing is similiar to the vein of HP Lovecraft. (The two corresponded with each other.) Howard's words were "virtual reality" decades before the term was ever coined. Grab a brewski and a good cigar, and a compilation of Conan stories, step out under the porch light, take a seat, and completely lose yourself.”

His vivid writing is so electric, that my hairs stand up on end. Of course, Conan is his most celebrated character. These savage stories of a man faced with high adventure and dark sorcery get the blood boiling. Highly recommended.”
