A great book. Conversational style writing, great points, clear and to the point. Teaches us a great deal about every aspect of shopping. There is more to shopping then purchasing merchandise or services.

Paco is not only a great retail expert, but he's a great writer. A must read for the multitudes of women who shop till they drop. As a father of two young, "high maintenance" (Coach, Nordstrom's, Bebe, etc.) ladies and the husband of a value shopper, I heartily recommend this book for fathers and husbands seeking to understand the science and psychology of retailing and marketing. Loved the "butt brush effect" story!

A good book for those in marketing. I keep in mind constantly the ideas of Paco Underhill everytime I create displays within the library. He brings your awareness to customer centered-ness in choosing your locations, design, materials etc. Very helpful book.

While it starts slowly, the book becomes a fascinating look at the psychology behind shopping. Plenty of anecdotes and facts keep the book real, even though sometimes I just couldn't believe what we shoppers do in stores. Recommended to anyone who wants to understand the draw of stores and consumerism.
