This is a great basic book on the essentials of plot, and the simplest redaction of Aristotle I have ever read. If you want to see how a 2000+ year old approach to literary criticism can be applied to our chief contemporary storytelling medium, this book is fascinating. Unfortunately, many of the films used as examples are fairly vile, making it unsuitable for use in the high school classroom. Otherwise, the book would be this high school English teacher's dream come true.
