Accidents, evil plots, and general misfortune abound when, in their continuing search for a home, the three Baudelaire orphans are sent to live and work in a sinister lumbermill.

  • Mr. Poe: Violet, Klaus and Sunny's care-taker, and puts them in different homes.

  • Shirley: The receptionist for Dr. Orwell.
