"Broken Angels" is Morgan's second novel and features the same protagonist, Takeshi Kovacs, as "Altered Carbon" (review here). The atmosphere in this sequel is, if possible, even grittier than before, probably because this book is set in a war zone rather than the world of high society crime, and Kovacs is a mercenary rather than a private eye.
