by Sheri Reynolds

Two children abandoned in a campground by their mother, raised by their grandparents. You go back and forth between the past and present, so you get the reasons why things happened in bits and pieces. A good story, a little long in places.

What a boring read. I keep plowing through it hoping I just haven't given it enough time. I have 30 pages left.... My hopes are dampening. The characters are flat...lifeless... I can't feel any of them. It seems scattered. I think the author had a great story line but it simply fell apart. I wanted more of an introduction...I felt like I got dumped into a story not knowing what was going on. Edited to add: I just finished it. (Thank goodness!) It doesn't get any better and the ending was as hollow as an empty drum. I just failed miserably at connecting with this book.

I really enjoyed The Rapture of Canaan, but found myself just wishing I could finish this book and start something better! Disappointing...

This is actually my least favorite out of Sheri Reynolds' books. Try her others!

It was a good book set in the south with rich , southern real life characters.

This was one of my favorite recent reads - I loved the characters and the story.

Sheri Reynolds kind of lost me on this book. She wrote one of my all-time faves (The Rapture of Canaan), but this novel was just a little boring.
