Sonchai witnesses a graphic and brutal murder. As a Thai cop and monk, he must unravel the murder by winding through sex trade and drugs with Buddhist style. Well written and should appeal to readers who want to explore other cultures. Reading can be a bit slow when main character is exploring intuitive/metaphysical side, and/or Buddhism. Great character development and sense of location. Publisher's Weekly says it's a "fresh take on noir." Graphic violence, gritty scenes of drugs and sex trade.
