“One of the reasons I like this book is because of the cute, baby monkey in the story. I always enjoyed reading about this monkey because I could see it in my mind. This baby monkey is actually very important to the story.”Caroline wrote this review Wednesday, February 20, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This story is written by Kathleen Ernest. This story is told in third person. The story is about Kit getting a summer job writing a children’s column for her local newspaper and looks for story ideas at the Cincinnati Zoo, where her friend Stirling works as a guide and her old friend Will, the hobo, has a job cleaning cages. Kit goes to the zoo to do some exploring when she notices something wrong at the monkey house. At first she thinks someone is messing around but, the next day there is more evidence. Kit wants to find out who is messing with the monkeys but she'll need a little detective work.
I am going to talk about the main Character Kit. These quotations show that kit is a girl who always has things in mind, always has ideas! “She was determined to figure out the puzzle.” and “Her head was already brimming with story ideas.” Kit always wants to know whats happening and what has happened. She always has an eye on people because they seem like they are involved,so she takes notes in her note pad. She’s always joyful but she could also be serious, she wants to do what she can to help her family and earn money by publishing children’s stories. She is a bright kid who is really clever and she made me want to go to the zoo.
I think this book was amazing. I don’t really go to the zoo but reading this story has made me learn that there are a lot of people who care so much about the animals they work at the zoo and go to the zoo all the time. When the mystery started to begin I couldn’t stop reading it, it was a lot of detective work for kit but she did her best. Lots were happening when Kit was solving the mystery so I think she had a hard time. When the mystery was solved it was an unexpected character. There was something going on with the character but I never knew it would end up as that Character. It will definitely be enjoyable for everyone especially if somebody loves the zoo. ”
“My great-aunt wrote this book. It's an amazing mystery about Kit Kitredge(not sure if thats the right spelling) and how she wants to be a journalist. I recommend this book.”Rachel McLaren wrote this review Wednesday, January 18, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
