I had never before read a book in this style, and while the diary-entry format can be very poorly done, Webster nails it on the head. Delightful book, quick read, lovely surprising ending, and deeper, meaningful passages for those who are willing to soul-search.

Upper-class woman; Sallie McBride’s life takes a nosedive when she finds herself in charge of an orphanage where her best friend (and main character of the prequel “Daddy Long-legs”) was raised. Learning how to care for a hundred children, deal with a bothersome yet interesting Scottish doctor and become less self-centered, S. McBride’s letters tell a spectacular story. Her character is extremely well-developed so she is incredibly believable. The whole book (and it’s a little lengthy) is made up of her witty, interesting and sometimes hilarious letters to her friends back in the “real world.” This book is fantastic for adults young and old. Sallie’s stubborn, opinionated personality is the icing on the cake. Great book…see for yourself.

It's not as good as the "daddy long legs", but still it's enjoyable to read.
