I had never before read a book in this style, and while the diary-entry format can be very poorly done, Webster nails it on the head. Delightful book, quick read, lovely surprising ending, and deeper, meaningful passages for those who are willing to soul-search.

I liked this, though I bought it and read it only because I wanted to find out more about Judy from Daddy-Long-Legs. After a while, Sallie started sounding almost exactly like Judy in her letters (you know, with the tone and the jokes and the doodles), which was kind of a bummer, as I think of her as having a different personality. However, I do like the development of the romance and relationship here. It reminds me a bit of the plot of that old TV show, Christy.
