Been reading this piecemeal for like 3 years now. It's great. Not sure why I'm sure a douche and can't finish it off.

One of my favourite books of all time. Don't spoil it for yourself by reading the blurb. Just get a copy and tuck in. Bon appetit!

A rollicking adventure about real life magician Carter (a Houdini contemporary) set in the early 20th century. I love books like this set in another time populated with real people and events. Very entertaining.

A deft mixture of history and old fashioned story telling, this a fictional account of the real-life magician, Charles Carter. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars (if I could give half stars!)

An excellent story, a 'period' piece. Lengthy, but entertaining. Nice twists and turns. (Well, twists and turns if you finish it, unlike the douche's who are trying to get through.)

I picked this novel up on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. An entertaining look at an entertaining period in history, with engaging characters and a plot that keeps you guessing.
