“I don't know quite what to say about this book. It's very well written, and the story is strangely engrossing. I just don't know what the "point" was. I guess I'd say it's about the anatomy of a marriage -- starting out strong, then declining, but then building back up again to something more durable and satisfying. And in the background is this strange kid who is obssessed with them, and lingers rather like a bad penny (or maybe a good one.. .who knows) throughout the entire story. But...”
