“I read Chonda's book and I was blown away. Chonda is one of my all time favorite comedians. Through out her story I could relate to her because I have been through depression too. She was right when she said that she wanted to be out of that tunnel fast.
Through her humor and her thought provoking messege, she has written a book that will be cherished for years to come. If you have a friend or you are going through depression this book is a high read on the list.”
“tenia f said: 5 stars. Chonda Pierce is a Christian Comedian, who makes people laugh for a living, but when her first cycle of depression hit, she didn't much feel like laughing. She had no idea what was happening to her, and before the doctor diagnosed her with depression, she could barley eat or get out of the couch. In her book, she describes her childhood, family history of depression, and types of medicine she was prescribed before getting on one that made her feel 'normal.' I can relate to all her experiences, because I'm maniac depressive, with anxiety problems. She also did what most of us do when we feel better, we stop taking our medications, which is the wrong thing to do. And I had to bust out laughing, when she described someone saying he wanted to beat up Tom Cruise for saying go out and exercise and that medication wasn't necessary for depression, because I totally lost respect for him then. And I've been in love with him since i was 14. Definitely a good book of hope, laugh and faith. I could have done with out the whole scripture thing at the beginning of the chapters but they didn't distract from the story.”

Even if you aren't in or have ever battled depression. It was lighthearted enough to not 'depress' you, its not a study book, yet its informational. Wonderful. You could give this book to a friend who is depressed and it would not be offensive.”
