“Books about kitties are always a favorite. Fritz and I were hanging out in Beetle's room this evening. He was a bit tired and Mommy was changing his sheets. This book was within reach. Fritz has matured with story time. He will sit and listen to a complete book. Afterward he even motioned to hold the book. He's coming along.
The story is wonderful. A little kitty seeks a bowl of milk, but the bowl she sees isn't within reach. Awwww . . . the little bundle of fur tumbles like a real kitty. We very much enjoyed the exploits.
The black and white drawings are very good and I can see why Henkes was awarded the Caldecott.”
