I have been interested in the subject of school bullying since I read "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult, which is about a boy dealing with bullying from kindergarten through high school. I found this book and when I read it I couldn't put it down either. It read like a novel and I was amazed that someone could actually have gone through this. As a mother of 4 I believe that there is more awareness now about bullying then when this woman went through what she did-but that doesn't mean that it isn't happening. I especially recommend this book to other parents to read just so they are not naive about what could be going on and what signs to look for in their own children if they are being bullied.

Im reading this book in one of my classes. I really enjoy this book as far as i have gotten into it. I get really mad at jodee, from what she is doing to herself about all the bullying she really needs to step it up and do something about it not just runnning from it and going to her parents to find out what is wrong with herself. Also i think that she exagerates the book a bit much on what happens to her because i dont think eveyone at each school she goies to is going to be mean to her and turn her down. Things today is deffinatly not that way. Basically this book tells the readers about what can happen well, what is happening to people like us in our schools.

I loved the speech the author gave about Janis Joplin. I wish it could be read to all middle schools and high schools. Maybe it would make kids think about being a bully and the effects it can have on a child.

i have been a victim of bullying and its hell... what these people make you go through, looking back on it now it makes you think... how could people treat you like this? it is sick.
I got spat, kicked under the table for no reason, followed home then have things thrown at my house, followed home and got punched or kicked to the floor whilst they filmed me, it seemed to become a daily channel on youtube every week there was a video uploaded to youtube with me kicked and battered.
The pain is exruciating.. both emotional and physical.
Help stop bulling... it effects people for life... i am now scared to go to the shops on my own... i always have my curtains shut and never answer the door unless i know who the person is or if im expecting them.

Back when I was in 5th or 6th grade, the woman who wrote this book came to my school to talk to us about not bullying and what not. I thought it was so inspiring, but that really did not stop everyone from making fun of me anyway. ].[
I actually didn't read the book until a year or two later though. In all honest, it only made me more depressed. -_-' It was still a really really good book and I would kind of like to read it again (since I'm a junior in high school and lots of things have changed since middle school.)
