A nice bit of romantic fluff that let me see a different part of the world in a different time.

This is literary candy - empty calories. An easy read, but not overly cheesy. Nice imagery.

I love Mary Stewart! This is one of my favourites. I've read it about 30 times. If you ahven't discovered Mary Stewart yet, its a great place to start.

I've been rereading some books I read years ago, and that's how I came to revisit This Rough Magic. An English actress come to Greece to visit her sister, and becomes aware of scullduggery involving smuggling. Bodies wash up on shore; there is love, mystery, and a friendly dolphin. All this is tenuously connected to Shakespeare's The Tempest. This was nicely written mind candy.
